There’s a new blog to follow featuring product reviews, trial product program information and just general day-to-day mom life. Please follow Mother Bzz’r!
From Mother Bzz’r– This week my dogs have been driving me crazy at night. Well, really just one of them has…and he’s been whimpering all though the night forcing me to constantly get up (because I’m the only one in the house he bothers I guess?) to let him out just for him to howl at the moon.
That being said, I was a perfect candidate for this ZzzQuil Voxbox from Influenster. I have my two ZzzQuil free tablets, a pillow and a blanket. I know how to use them all! If it all works according to plan I even have a $2.00 off coupon. Thanks Influenster and ZzzQuil!
I live in a smallish suburb in the midwest. Several months ago the only Indian restaurant near us closed, and with them they took my favorite dish, Murgh Makhani (also known as chicken makhani or butter chicken). This week we … Continue reading →

Another summer is winding down way too fast. While I’m shopping all of the back-to-school sales and helping the littles pick out their perfect first day ensembles, I have a couple of things nagging in the back of my brain. … Continue reading →

While Husby was off beachin’ it in his own mind, I was assembling food for the masses. Okay, for four. Well, technically for two. But it was intended for four. Kids and their aversion to red pepper flakes… Please enjoy … Continue reading →

Sherlock Holmes had his pipe. Dorothy had her red shoes. Batman had his Batmobile. If we asked your friends what object they most immediately associate with you, what would they answer?
I am not entirely positive that today’s Daily Prompt inspires me to write much of interest, but I am always happy to share my love of the aviators. These particular ones are from Betsey Johnson, but I have many pair.
Maybe you have a signature object you can go on and on about. Tell me about it in the comments!
I started my Friday favorites last week and had my mind set to make it a regular feature on my blog. This week, I happened upon a link-up for my theme. So, I’m linking up with Mom’s Got Mail for … Continue reading →
I’m linking up with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom, and getting some things off of my mind. If you read my heads-up post about Tuesday being PINCHme Tuesday and you chose to participate – I sort of apologize. This week … Continue reading →
I can’t believe yesterday was not Tuesday. But I had time to get used to it, so I’m okay with today being Thursday. Do you ever lose a day along the way?
Today’s thrifty store of choice is Jane.com. Jane was introduced to me by my lovely friend, Laurie. I would link you all to her so you could bask in her awesomeness, but she doesn’t blog. I know for a fact she would lynch me if I sent you to intrude upon her personal life on The Facebooks, so you will just have to take my word for it.
Jane.com is like a craft fair/boutique type of online store. You will find household goods, clothes, toys, jewelry, personalized items, makeup…the list just goes on and on. I adore a good amount of their clothes (and have purchased my fair share) and I REALLY love that I can buy personalized items for pretty much the same as non-personalized items elsewhere (maybe even cheaper!).
If you purchase from them you will need to keep in mind that all of the items are coming from different vendors. You may not and likely will not receive your items in one shipment and each item will likely have different shipping costs. I have never found this to be too much of a nuisance considering the great deal I’m getting.
A few of my favorite finds have been maxi skirts, chevron blouses and personalized necklaces for the littles. If you keep an eye out, you may even luck upon a grab bag or two like I did. Five pieces of statement jewelry for less than ten bucks? Don’t mind if I do.
From the yeasty warmth of freshly baked bread to the clean, summery haze of lavender flowers, we all have favorite smells we find particularly comforting. What’s yours?
I have many favorite smells. The smell of a newborn baby. I mean, a new-new newborn baby, fresh from the factory. I can’t describe it in a worthy way. The air is sweet and clean and… new. I don’t know if that’s everyone’s experience or just mine. My newborn babies smell good.
I like the smell of freshly mown grass. This is a common one. You either love it or you hate it. I have only recently learned, or perhaps relearned as maybe I knew it before, that the smell that I love so much is actually a chemical that the lawn gives off trying to save itself from the injury you are inflicting upon it. That makes me sad. It is sad that it smells so good.
I love the musky smell of a good rainstorm. I think everyone gets this one. Right?
I love the smell of Thanksgiving dinner cooking. It’s almost too many aromas at once. Sweet and savory overload – a welcomed experience.
The smell of coffee brewing is one of my most odd favorites. Odd because I do not drink coffee. Not the freshly brewed, never experienced the transformation into a white chocolate mocha kind of coffee anyway. It is my fervent wish that coffee tasted as good, straight out of the pot, as it smells while it is brewing.
I have a feeling that I could go on like this for many hours, but I have to eat lunch now. BLT’s smell good.
